Joint Birthday Parties

It's the 24th of August! Howww has this summer gone so quickly! Okay so I've had 3 months off but time has literally flown by! I can't remember how it was when we were back at school when we had like 6 weeks off that seems so short thinking now, I guess degrees are harder than GCSEs so we need more time to relax XD

To get me back into the Uni feeling and side of things and prepare me for 'Freshers' (not a Fresher anymore but not the point, no one will ever know XD) I've had a very party filled, alcoholic weekend. :)

On Friday, we all celebrated Alex's, Callum's, Freddie's and Lewis' birthdays. We went to Hippodrome for Cheese night. Now I never really like cheese because I am ridiculously bad at lyrics, I'm one of those that sings words that sound similar but are very very wrong. And cheese is usually about singing so I was like great -.- But it was okay we all had such a fun night! I haven't had a night like that in Kingston for a while so I'm really glad! It was actually so much fun and we were all dancing away and singing some of the right lyrics haha!

Shorts and Crop Top- New Look, Heels- Deichmann
Last night I headed out to London, I'm sure there will be photos up soon and tonight I'm going to a birthday party :) This year everyone's going to be turning 21 so there are going to be a lot of parties so I'm quite excited! :)

Hope you're all ready for going back to School/College/Uni/Work and that you've been enjoying your summer break :)

Fit is the New Thin

Since the beginning of the year my view on gym and exercise had changed. I had always thought yeaah I want to be really skinny, thigh gap, hip bones and all that rubbish, but like most people 'I love food too much' and doing cardio is sooo so boring!

SINS

I came across Ellens Instagram (Fitspooration) and straightaway I was hooked. I was so impressed at how heavy she was able to lift and she looked reaaally good! I've followed other accounts but hers is my favourite by far! So I soon began to think, well, I could be a twig and be really weak and blow over in the wind, do boring cardio and live off celery, orr I could go to the gym, lift heavy, get a squat bum and eat loads. I think it was more the food side that sold it, but I thought right lets try this. Let's forget the myth that everyone says ohh if girls lift weights they will look manly.. If it was that easy everyone would be doing it! I decided that I wanted a toned strong physique and I really liked the idea of the personal satisfaction of yeah, I deadlift or yeah, I benchpress! haha :')

It's no longer about skinny, now it's about heathy

Luckily for me my housemate Hannah began to share the same views as I did so we became gym buddies. We started using the machines, and slowly started venturing into the men's sections. Ohh my was it scary. We were just surrounded by guys who were lifting loads and we were two little girls who didn't have a clue. We were both really impressed with how heavy we were going and one of our favourite machines was the leg press which we both kept improving. However we both really wanted to try the squat racks and use the benches in the guys area, I felt like, I needed a friend I knew who was a guy to just stand there next to me so I didn't feel like a complete idiot. Luckily for us some of the weights got moved upstairs so we started using them.

So that's how my exercise routine and view on what I wanted to achieve changed. Recently I've been working out with Pardis and he's been training me so my strength has pretty much doubled! Now I just need to keep it up! :)

What are your views on this topic? Have you started lifting weights or are you more of a cardio bunny? Let me know :)

Meelads Graduation Celebrations

Following on from my previous post where I made Meelad a graduation card which you can find here, here are some photos from the night :)

We started off by going round his :) It was a really nice night, we chilled in the garden for a bit, his mum and boss made loaaads of food, everything looked so fancy there were canapes and bruschetta etc and it was all as yummy as it looked.

After food and everything we played some drinking games such as ring of fire and beer pong etc, we were all soo bad at beer pong haha! Sorry guys! :)

And then finally we headed off to Hippodrome :) It was a really simple night but we all had so much fun so that's all that matters :)

How have you been celebrating your friends' graduations? :)
